Learn the fundamentals of pie baking in this hands-on workshop designed to build confidence and technique. You will create two 7 inch pies from scratch: a double-crust strawberry rhubarb pie and a lemon meringue pie. In this class, you'll learn about different types of pies, how to make flaky pie dough, blind bake a pie shell, braid a beautiful lattice crust, prepare a classic fruit filling, make lemon curd, properly egg wash crust, and learn the basics of meringue. Each student will use professional techniques to finish their pies and take home their delicious creations. No prior pie-making experience required.
